报告摘要:  In 1995 Stanley introduced a symmetric function generalization of the chromatic polynomial of a graph. Let  denote the chromatic symmetric function corresponding to the graph . A celebrated conjecture of Stanley states that  is Schur positive when  is clawfree. It turns out that Stanley's conjecture is equivalent to the total positivity of certain matrix with polynomial entries related to independent polynomials of . I will talk about some related results and problems motivated by this conjecture.

报告人简介：杨立波，南开大学教授，博士生导师。现任南开大学组合数学中心副主任。2004年毕业于南开大学，获博士学位；2011年入选教育部新世纪优秀人才；2015年获国家自然科学基金优秀青年基金项目资助。现为中文《数学进展》编委、中国工业与应用数学学会图论组合及应用专业委员会常务理事、中国运筹学会图论组合分会常务理事、天津市工业与应用数学学会常务理事。主要从事组合数学方面的研究，在对称函数理论和单峰型理论方面取得多项重要成果，在《Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.》、《Intern. Math. Res. Notices》、《Proc. Amer. Math. Soc.》、《J. Combinatorial Theory Series, A》等权威数学期刊发表论文30余篇。主持完成国家自然科学基金多项，参与完成973项目子课题和国家自然科学基金重点项目各1项。
